Hey guys,
I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be writing you guys in Iraq. I'm so sorry to hear about Gerry. I'll miss him terribly. What I find most disturbing is that I was just thinking about him today. (102806). I spoke with Darrel Wagner, who told me of what happened. I remember Gerry's tales of conquest with life before he came to Rocky Flats. Life won't be the same without him. His smile, his stories, and the way he could always make you laugh. I hope this gets through. If any of you ever need anything don't hesitate to write. Most of you will remeber me from being on the SRT Team. Now however if you ever drive through Adams County Colorado, it might be me who pulls you over for driving to fast.
Usually we say this only to the people we work with, BE SAFE my brothers.

Jeff Lofton
Hello everyone,
It is great to find you all here on this blog. I was at the flats from 1990- 2003 and transferred to The Nevada Test Site With 9 others. We all catch s#@t from the site SPOs about being from rocky but we wear that like a badge of honor.
I moved to Nevada with my son Kodi and my girlfriend Julie Beck, we are still together. Julie worked in T119b trailer for Worldwide Sec. doing OPSEC. Life here in the desert is a bit different, and the sense of family at NTS is nonexistent, unlike what we had at The Flats. I read in a post on this blog that this is all a dream and rocky is still there....Boy do I wish that was the case. We all had some great times there.
Anyway, I just wanted to say Hi to everyone If anyone cares to e-mail me I am at Kkrommm@cox.net. 702-656-3537.
I wish everyone the best in all you do.
Thanks Jeff. We're glad you found the blog.

Chris,
A note to extend my deepest condolences for the loss of Jerry Lambert. Please stay safe and complete your tour and come home.
If you happen to know where the arrangements will be made please let me know and I will pass along that information here. We would like to send flowers and condolences to the family.
A terrible thing to happen to someone. It affected many here as we consider ourselves part of a large family not matter how well we knew, associated and worked with him.
As you wrote it does make you think of values and those things that are important. In Jerry’s mind then he is in a far better place making those in Heaven smile and enjoy his company.
Again, take care of yourself and hurry home.
Pete
Thanks to Pete and Chris for the info.

More of Jerry's Story
Chris has posted more about Jerry on his blog. Follow the link to read more about what a true hero Jerry is, http://campsomewhereiniraq.blogspot.com/index.html.
Hello from Mike Mayeux
Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to say hi to all who have joined on this site. It's great to see and hear from ya'll! Just thought I would try to locate some of you. I plan a trip every year to Breckenridge with some of my new friends in Tennessee, and it would be nice to meet up with some of you for a quick ski outing or one of our many lunch or dinner outings. I got to see Rich and Steve one evening as they approached our group with the lights on.
Things are working out great in Oak Ridge and I'm staying out of trouble. There are several of us out here and they call us the " Rocky Flats Mafia". If you want to know more you will get a kick out of it! Well I guess I should give some space to everyone else. If you get to Tennessee look me up and show you what there is to do in The Great Smokey Mountains!

Jerry Lambert
This is the email I received from Mark Graf today about Jerry.
Our condolences go out to Jerry’s family. Please remember Jerry’s family in your prayers. Please remember Chris and Rich in your prayers as well.
I have just got off the telephone with Chris Dorneden. As most of you will know, Chris is in Iraq working as a contractor. He operates one of the TOCs.
Chris told me that Jerry Lambert was killed today by an IED. The story is best told on Chris's blog site at http://www.campsomewhereiniraq.blogspot.com/
For those of you that don't know Jerry, he was a wild man, high speed, and larger than life, although his physical stature was not grand. Everyone I have talked to remembered his "stripper dance" the happy laughs that preannounced his arrival and that grin he used to welcome his friends.
This is a good time to remember all of our friends, over there, over here, and scattered about the world. What a group, what a family, what a ride. I am glad I got to share the ride with you.
Mark
